These are powerful leg and butt workouts (walking lunges and squats) that sculpt every inch of muscle from your hips down to your toes! The videos below are of beautiful squats. What you should keep in mind is keeping your back straight, eyes fixed to a point on the ceiling, keeping your knees strong and not letting them buckle and collapse in (you can put a swiss ball in betweeen your legs or tie a dynaband round your legs and keep the resitance taut through the movement) and finally the popular saying, “arse touching the grass.” Simples :-)
Side note - need to get me some of those shoes. SICK! and also great for balance.
Elisabeth Akinwale is my new source of inspiration, period! This woman exudes so much strength and mental toughness that I’m getting psyched over the web having never even come close to meeting her or hearing about her before.
Elisabeth took part in the crossfit games in 2011 and on her 1st try ever placed 13th, being the 13th fittest woman in the world! The cross fit games for those that don’t know are a sort of olympic game-esque competition for fitness in a nutshell and anyone can take part all the way from 15-60 years old. The games are a fantastic way to bring people together to create a shared sense of community. Imagine thousands of people, cheering and willing you on to get through the last 50m on the spin bike in your gym. Times that by a thousand. That’s the type of atmosphere you’d get at the games and it’s one to enjoy being both spectator and participant.
The video below shows the type of workouts you would typically do to get in shape for the games.
